Registration & Continental Breakfast at 7:30am
ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR THIS COURSE IS NOW CLOSED, PLEASE CALL Barbara VanCislo AT 206-341-0122 OR REGISTER AT THE DOOR, THERE ARE MANY SEATS STILL AVAILABLE!
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Using the actual words and experiences of people with life limiting illness, keynote speaker, M. Alicia Keene, MN, ARNP, will present the profound findings of a national qualitative study. The study findings indicate that dramatic change is necessary in the way healthcare professionals and the community collaborate in support and care for persons in the last phase of life. We must open our hearts to new ways of thinking and behaving if we are to accomplish quality, comprehensive palliative care from the moment of
diagnosis through death and bereavement. This conference will provide the stimulus for participant reflection and conversation to understand the needs of individuals with life-limiting illness and their families and to appreciate the
scope of change required to adequately address those needs.
